Before you apply
Does it cost anything to join Flourish?
No. Signing up is free, and there are no membership fees. Flourish is paid by insurance for the care you deliver — you get paid for your visits and births.
Do I need to be fully certified before applying?
We welcome doulas at every stage, from newly trained to fully certified. Complete a recognized training program and you're ready to apply — we'll walk you through everything else, including background check and CPR certification.
How and when do I get paid?
Flourish bills insurance directly for every visit and birth, and pays you on a consistent, on-time schedule. You never invoice a family, fight a denial, or chase a payment.
Which insurance plans does Flourish work with?
We credential doulas in-network with plans like MassHealth, Blue Cross, UnitedHealthcare, and Cigna, and the list keeps growing state by state. We handle the credentialing paperwork at every stage.
Do I control my own caseload?
Yes. You choose how many clients you take and when. We match you with covered patients in your area — take one client a month or four, and adjust anytime.
