Co-Owner of Springfield Family Doulas

Tanita Council is a dedicated Full Spectrum Doula with over five years of experience supporting families through every stage of their birthing journey. As the co-founder of Springfield Family Doulas, Tanita is passionate about creating safe, empowering, and nurturing spaces for birthing individuals and their families. Her comprehensive training includes certifications as a DONA-trained Birth Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Placenta Specialist.

Tanita’s mission is to provide compassionate, personalized care that empowers clients to feel confident and informed. She is currently expanding her expertise in preconception health and pregnancy loss advocacy, and she plans to bring her doula perspective into midwifery to address disparities in maternity care.

Through Springfield Family Doulas, Tanita offers services such as prenatal education, birth and postpartum doula support, lactation counseling, placenta encapsulation, and reiki energy healing. Her goal is to foster trust, respect, and kindness during one of life’s most transformative experiences.

Your Birth Doula Support Package includes:

A doula to help you and your family ease into early parenthood.

A 60 minute virtual prenatal meet & greet appointment to discuss the birth and postpartum experience you want.
Support Appointments during pregnancy and postpartum scheduled as four 90 minute appointments and one 60 minute appointments to cover the following topics:
- Birth + baby preparation
- Newborn care and sleep consultation
- Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding support
- Your postpartum recovery
- Connect you with local resources and answer any other questions
Birth Support to include:
- On call status from 38 weeks until you have your baby
- Early labor support through text, phone calls or video calls
- Hands on support during active labor through birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby or hands on support through a cesarean birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby
- Chat support with your doula through the HIPAA compliant app Healthie
