About Joanne

My name is Joanne and to introduce myself I would like to begin with the lifelong path that has brought me to birth work. The story begins nearly as far back as childhood. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse and work with babies! I was fascinated by the birthing process. I have been a Registered Nurse for 24 years and my background in nursing is in labor and delivery/Obstetrics, and I am nationally certified in inpatient OB nursing. I became a certified doula through ALACE while I was in nursing school, and also received my certification in childbirth education. I spent a great deal of my time volunteering my services for the underserved population at the Angelica Maternity Shelter, providing childbirth education classes and doula services in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I have worked in large academic hospitals around the nation as well as small intimate critical access hospitals. That is where I discovered how much I truly enjoyed laboring with women. I finally had the time!

My hope is for you to be able to birth with judgement free support, learn through evidence based resources, that I will provide informational support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, and that I will support your birth choices. We will foster unity between your labor support team and respect the intimate nature of your birth. I will provide you with love, compassion, physical and emotional support throughout your perinatal period to empower you and aid in manifesting your inherent birth and parenting power.

Your Prenatal + Parenthood Wellness Program includes:

A doula to help you and your family ease into early parenthood.

A 30 minute prenatal meet & greet appointment (video call or phone call) to discuss the birth and postpartum experience you want.
5 additional 30 minute support appointments during pregnancy and postpartum (video call or phone call) to cover some of the following topics:
- Birth + baby preparation
- Newborn care and sleep consultation
- Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding support
- Your postpartum recovery
- Connect you with local resources and answer any other questions

Virtual webinars + educational emails

*When booking your first appointment, please book at least 24 hours in advance. Some of our doulas may have same day appointments listed but they would not have enough time to prepare for your appointment without at least a 24 hour notice.

This package does not include birth support.
