About Jailisse

As a birth and postpartum doula, I am committed to supporting individuals and families through every stage of the perinatal process. Before stepping into birthwork, I was a sexual violence counselor and a LGBTQ+ advocate for five years where I developed trauma-informed care grounded in healing and trust. This experience has shaped my approach as a doula and my passion for the well-being of others.

My goal is to help families make decisions that reflect their values and their lived experiences. Whether you’re creating a birth plan or navigating breastfeeding (and anything in between), I’m here to provide you with personalized care, joy and encouragement every step of the way. This care could look like comfort measures during labor, nourishing postpartum meals, help with furry friends, newborn care, or a little extra help with self-nourishing! Every family needs something a little different and I’m here to honor that.

A Lawrence native, my long-term goals are to reduce equity gaps among marginalized communities so everyone is able to create birth experiences and build families in a way that feels safe, accessible, and liberating.

Outside of birthwork, you will find me in the kitchen baking something sweet, getting my hands dirty with ceramics, or reading my favorite book.

1 One Hour Postpartum Planning Appointment
In-Person Postpartum appointments scheduled as 24 three hour visits to cover some of the following topics:
- Customized Care Plan
- Hands on Support
- Newborn care and sleep consultation
- Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding support
- Your postpartum recovery
- Light Housework
- Connect you with local resources and answer any other questions

Virtual webinars + educational emails

*When booking your first appointment, please book at least 24 hours in advance. Some of our doulas may have same day appointments listed but they would not have enough time to prepare for your appointment without at least a 24 hour notice.

*Once matched with a doula, your spot is not secure until you book your first appointment. If this appointment is not booked within 7 days of being matched, the doula match is subject to change.
