About Alysa

For Alysa, being a doula is not just a job, but a way of life. Initially inspired by the hospital lockdowns during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic and her own struggles with doctors, Alysa has been an active doula in the Boston area since early 2021. Since then, she estimates attendance at 75 individual births in a broad range of clinical settings, totaling to 1,500 hours of experience in in-person labor and birth support. Alysa’s specialty is “evidence-based everything” where she helps families feel truly satisfied with their birth experiences, whatever the journey may be.

In addition to being a doula, Alysa is a member of a research team in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at a teaching hospital in downtown Boston, where she coordinates several studies on diabetes management during pregnancy and postpartum. In her spare time, Alysa enjoys gardening, reading romance novels, and watching reality TV. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband, two dogs, three cats, and too many plants to count.

Your Birth Doula Support Package includes:

A doula to help you and your family ease into early parenthood.

A 90 minute virtual prenatal meet & greet appointment to discuss the birth and postpartum experience you want.
Support Appointments during pregnancy and postpartum scheduled as three 90 minute appointments and two 60 minute appointments to cover the following topics:
- Birth + baby preparation
- Newborn care and sleep consultation
- Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding support
- Your postpartum recovery
- Connect you with local resources and answer any other questions
Birth Support to include:
- On call status from 37 weeks until you have your baby
- Early labor support through text, phone calls or video calls
- Hands on support during active labor through birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby or hands on support through a cesarean birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby
- Chat support with your doula through the HIPAA compliant app Healthie
