About Melanie

Melanie was born and raised here in New Jersey by her wonderful Colombian parents. She was fortunate that her parents taught her Spanish and raised her with many different Colombian traditions. Melanie also enjoys spending time with her loved ones, as well as with her four beautiful cats, Cheese, Bloom, Mango, and Honey. However, growing up, she was not only an only child but also battled many lifelong chronic conditions. Let’s just say, as a Latina woman, she understands how it feels when receiving care at a medical center can be daunting.

This is why Melanie embarked on the path of helping many vulnerable populations from different communities. She is well-acquainted with, and have experienced, the health disparities, inequities, and inequalities that many of you may have faced and felt.

Therefore, Melanie is using what she loves to do, which is educating and supporting women and their families during pregnancy and all the way through their postpartum period.

She strongly believes that all women and their families deserve to be helped, supported, heard, and respected. That’s exactly what you will receive with Melanie.

A doula to help you and your family ease into early parenthood.

A one hour virtual prenatal meet & greet appointment to discuss the birth and postpartum experience you want.
One additional appointment during pregnancy and postpartum to cover the following topics:
- Birth + baby preparation
- Newborn care and sleep consultation
- Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding support
- Your postpartum recovery
- Connect you with local resources and answer any other questions
Birth Support to include:
- On call status from 37 weeks until you have your baby
- Early labor support through text, phone calls or video calls
- Hands on support during active labor through birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby or hands on support through a cesarean birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby
- Back-up doula provided if needed
