About Jennifer
A little about me! My name is Jennifer and I am both a Certified Postpartum Doula and a Certified Perinatal Doula. I have been working in these fields since 2019 and also have a background in Complementary Alternative Medicine. I became a Doula after I had my fifth baby and saw what a drastic difference my recovery and healing time was after I delivered and had support in my recovery. My first four children were born with my partner present but soon after I had delivered, my partner went back to work. After my fifth child was born, my husband was awarded a 30 day paternity leave and was there to help me in my healing process. It was the first postpartum journey I had that I did not suffer from Postpartum depression. At this point, I knew I wanted everyone to have access to support if they chose to have it.
In my journey as a Doula, I’ve worked in both the postpartum and birth world. I’ve worked independently, with agencies, and have worked as a hospital based Doula. I’ve supported over 20 families in their postpartum journey and have even gone on to help support one of these families as a nanny until their little one went to preschool. In the birth world, I’ve had the honor of supporting over 75 births and many women through their pregnancies. As a hospital based Doula, I had the pleasure of working with many women in more of a community doula role. I loved and still do love this role. I enjoy having the opportunity to help educate and support those who are seeking this in their journey.
I am a lifelong learner and am an avid supporter of evidence based learning. I enjoy working in the field of natural sciences in addition to doula work and love to have time to soak up nature when I can! When I am not supporting my clients, I can be found hanging out with my family or just enjoying lakes or trees 🙂
I love all things women’s health and am excited to have the opportunity to help support you through your journey <3
