About Gissell

As a birth doula and perinatal bereavement support person, I am honored to walk beside families during some of the most transformative and vulnerable moments of their lives—whether in celebration or sorrow. My work is rooted in compassion, deep listening, and nonjudgmental support, with the goal of helping each family feel empowered, held, and heard.

I provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and birth, offering evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs and values. In times of loss, I hold space with tenderness and presence, offering grief-informed care for families experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss.

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and a deep belief in the strength and resilience of every birthing person and their loved ones. Whether welcoming new life or honoring a life gone too soon, I am here to offer unwavering support, guided by empathy, dignity, and respect.

Your Birth Doula Support Package includes:

A doula to help you and your family ease into early parenthood.

A 60 minute virtual prenatal meet & greet appointment to discuss the birth and postpartum experience you want.
3 Additional 60 Minute Support Appointments during pregnancy and postpartum to cover the following topics:
- Birth + baby preparation
- Newborn care and sleep consultation
- Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding support
- Your postpartum recovery
- Connect you with local resources and answer any other questions
Birth Support to include:
- On call status from 38 weeks until you have your baby
- Early labor support through text, phone calls or video calls
- Hands on support during active labor through birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby or hands on support through a cesarean birth until 1-2 hours after you have your baby
- Chat support with your doula through the HIPAA compliant app Healthie
